FAQ:

How should we dress for our family session?

When dressing for a family portrait, it's important to choose outfits that complement each other without being too matchy-matchy. Here are a few tips:

- Coordinate, Don’t Match: Choose a color palette with complementary tones—neutral shades, pastels, or rich earth tones work well. Avoid everyone wearing the same color, but aim for harmony in the overall look.

- Comfort is Key: Make sure everyone feels comfortable in what they wear. This will help everyone relax and look natural in the photos.

- Avoid Bold Patterns: Simple, solid colors or subtle patterns tend to photograph best. Avoid large logos or busy patterns that can distract from the people in the photo.

- Dress for the Setting: Consider the location of the shoot. For an outdoor session, casual, layered clothing works well, while formal attire may be better for indoor or studio portraits.

- Keep it Timeless: Choose classic styles that won't look dated in a few years. Avoid trends that might not age well in photos.

- Add Personal Touches: Feel free to incorporate personal accessories, like scarves or jewelry, that add character to the shoot without overwhelming the look.

The goal is to create a balanced, timeless look that reflects your family’s style and personality while keeping the focus on the connections between you all!

What if it rains?

In the event of inclement weather, we will reschedule for a mutually agreeable day. Should the session not take place due to consistent bad weather, a refund may be given.

How many pictures will be in my gallery?

In a 20-minute session, you'll have 12 to 15 images to choose from in your gallery. Extended family and longer sessions will offer more options. All of the highest quality portrait choices will be available for you to review and select from.

How many pictures will we receive?

Three digital prints are included with your session. You will have the option to purchase additional digital prints at $50 each, or the entire gallery for one low price.

How large can we print our photos?

Your digital portraits will print at high quality up to 8 x 12 inches. For larger wall prints, please order through Jen Boutet Photography to guarantee the best quality.

Where should we get our portraits printed?

One of my favorite consumer printers is Mpix. They offer consistent quality and a variety of products.
